Iran Comes Fourth at 2024 Asian Women's Handball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Kazakhstan 28-22 in the 2024 Asian Women's Handball Championship third-place match on Tuesday.

Team Melli Banovan lost to Japan 34-14 and defeated India 32-30 and Hong Kong 26-17 in Group B and also fell short to South Korea 33-20 in the semifinals.

Iran has already qualified for 2025 World Women's Handball Championship as one of the top four teams.

Japan and South Korea will lock horn in the final match.

The competition, taking place from December 1 to 10, 2024 in New Delhi, India, is the 20th edition of the Asian Women's Handball Championship.

The tournament is held under the aegis of the Asian Handball Federation and acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2025 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top four teams qualifying for the 2025 World Women's Handball Championship.
