TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The joint team of investigators plans to ask ousted South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to appear for questioning on December 18, the Yonhap news agency reported.

On December 14, the South Korean parliament voted to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol who had announced a hasty decision to introduce a martial law. The Constitutional Court must now decide whether to remove the incumbent leader from office, TASS reported.

Yoon Suk Yeol is suspected of plotting a rebellion to overthrow the constitutional order.

Yonhap previously reported that prosecutors summoned Yoon Suk Yeol for questioning on December 15, but he did not show up.

On the evening of December 3, Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law to combat "pro-North Korean elements" and the paralysis of the executive branch caused by the actions of the parliamentary opposition. Martial law was lifted about six hours later.
