In a meeting with Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Communications Muhammad Khurram Agha, held in Tehran on Monday, Eskandar Momeni stressed the need to pursue and implement the security agreement between the two countries.

Hailing the close cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, Momeni expressed hope that security interaction along the common border would boost mutual trade.

For his part, the Pakistani official described the common border as the frontier of friendship, peace and security.

Highlighting the mutual resolve to fight against terrorism and smuggling, Khurram Agha expressed hope that the trade exchanges between the two nations would hit tens of billions of dollars.

In 2018, high-ranking officials from Iran and Pakistan signed an agreement to promote cooperation in preserving the security of common border and preventing fuel smuggling as well as human trafficking.

Preventing terrorists from crossing the common border was another issue agreed between the two countries.
