IRGC at Highest Level of Readiness to Defend Iran: General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Highlighting the Iranian armed forces’ great defensive preparedness, the commander of the IRGC Ground Force warned of Iran’s crushing response to any act of aggression.

“Our readiness to defend the country is at the highest level,” Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said on the sidelines of the ‘Payambar-e Azam (The Great Prophet) 19’ military exercise in western Iran.

The commander warned the enemies that any threat, act of aggression, or violation of Iran’s boundaries will trigger a harsh and crushing response from the Iranian armed forces.

“Ensuring the security of borders is the top priority for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps,” he added.

The general noted that the ongoing war game has both “security and defensive” aspects.

While the security tactics are being practiced in the western border areas, the defensive strategies of the drill will be carried out in south of Iran in the near future, he stated.

A whole host of specialized military units have taken part in the exercise.

During the first phase of the war game, the special forces carried out rapid reaction operations.
