Rui Faria, Latest Candidate to Lead Persepolis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Portuguese football coach Rui Filipe da Cunha Faria is the most recent candidate shortlisted to take charge of Iranian club Persepolis.
Faria is known for his work with renowned football manager José Mourinho for 17 years.
The 49-year old coach was the head coach of Al-Duhail in 2019-20 season.
Persepolis parted company with Spanish coach Juan Carlos Garrido in late December and is negotiating with various coaches for the vacant seat.
Persepolis has previously been linked with Italian tactician Walter Mazzarri, Portuguese Jose Vitor dos Santos Peseiro, French coach Julien Stéphan, former Croatia coach Slaven Bilic, ex-Dortmund trainer Edin Terzic, former Bayern Munich head coach Niko Kovac, ex-Real Madrid coach Rafael Benitez, and Foolad coach Yahya Golmohammadi.
