In a telephone conversation on Thursday night, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan discussed the latest developments in Syria as well as the relations between Tehran and Ankara.
Araqchi reiterated Iran’s policy of support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He also stressed the need for the formation of an inclusive government in Syria with the participation of all political, ethnic and religious groups, calling for the prevention of internal conflicts in the Arab country.
Araqchi then voiced concern about the reports of arbitrary measures by the armed groups against Syrian civilians in the Shiite and Alawite regions, stressing the need to protect the rights of minorities.
