Iran’s Military Attainments Aimed at Defense: President
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – President Masoud Pezeshkian gave an assurance that Iran’s military achievements serve to protect the country and are not for aggression against others.
During a visit to an exhibition of the Defense Ministry’s missile industry in Tehran on Sunday, Pezeshkian emphasized the necessity for supporting the defense industries and making steady progress.
He stressed that the military achievements of Iran are meant to defend and protect the country, not to invade any place.
“Such (military) progress will continue, not with the intention of aggression against any country, but with the purpose to prevent any country from daring to violate our soil,” the president noted.
Praising the Iranian servicemen involved in the defense, missile and space industries, Pezeshkian said Iran is now among the few countries that has reached space beyond the Earth's atmosphere.
Iran’s new medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM), named “E’temad” (trust), was unveiled in the event.
The 16-meter-long missile has a range of 1,700 kilometers and is equipped with a precision-guided warhead.
