Iran Loses to Germany at 2025 Men's FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Germany 8-3 at the 2025 Men's FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup on Tuesday.

Team Melli, who secured a 5-3 victory against Argentina in its opening match on Monday, will play Malaysia on Wednesday.

The top eight teams from the three pools—comprising the top two teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed teams—will advance to the quarter-finals.

The remaining teams will compete in the 9th-12th position playoffs.

The competition is taking place in Poreč, Croatia, from February 3 to 9.

Groups:

Pool A – Austria, South Africa, Poland, Croatia
Pool B – Iran, Argentina, Germany, Malaysia
Pool C – Belgium, Australia, Namibia, Trinidad & Tobago
