Energy Shortage An Opportunity to Promote Efficiency: Iranian President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the challenges posed by the imbalance in energy resources may turn into opportunities to establish efficient consumption patterns with the cooperation of citizens and officials.

Addressing a meeting on management and optimization of energy consumption, held at the Ministry of Interior in Tehran on Tuesday, Pezeshkian underscored the vital role of the public in redressing energy imbalances.

He also highlighted the efforts by various government bodies to tackle the recent energy crisis, warning that without public cooperation to reduce energy consumption, the country could face power outages.

The president also urged the governor generals in all provinces to leverage local talents and develop effective strategies to reduce energy consumption.

Pezeshkian also advised the provincial officials to consider power cuts to manufacturing units as a last resort, his official website reported.
