Iranian Spokesperson Reacts to Trump’s Eagerness for Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokeswoman for the Iranian administration said Tehran’s stances on international affairs are based upon expediency after the US president voiced willingness to hold talks with his Iranian counterpart.
“Our international issues have been founded upon the principles of dignity, wisdom and expediency. All issues, specifically relations with countries, are being pursued on the basis of these three principles,” Fatemeh Mohajerani told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday.
She made the comments when asked about Tehran’s response to US President Donald Trump’s willingness to hold talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
On Tuesday, Trump said he was willing to work out a deal with Iran. He said that while Iran can never have a nuclear weapon under any circumstances, he is willing to talk to his Iranian counterpart.
