Pakistan Rejects Foreign Plans for Conquest of Palestine
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Ishaq Dar expressed his country’s opposition to any ploy to conquer the Palestinian territories, stressing the need to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart on Saturday, Ishaq Dar emphasized the responsibility of the international community and Islamic countries to help realize the Palestinian nation’s right to self-determination and to end the occupation.
He condemned and rejected any plans or schemes for seizing the Palestinian lands.
Ishaq Dar also pointed out the inherent duty of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to support Al-Quds and the oppressed Palestinian people.
He welcomed the proposal to hold an extraordinary meeting of the OIC foreign ministers, calling for continued consultations and coordination with the other Islamic countries on this issue.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi praised the support of the Muslim government and nation of Pakistan for the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian nation against occupation and genocide.
Araqchi slammed the forced displacement plan of the Palestinian people from Gaza as part of a colonial scheme to “eliminate Palestine” and condemned the conspiracy, calling for a unified stance by the Muslim states against the malicious plan.
The foreign minister also highlighted the international community’s strong opposition to the US president’s cruel plan on Gaza, emphasizing the need for an effective role by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to counter the ethnic cleansing plan in the occupied Palestinian territories, the ministry’s website reported.
He also proposed that an emergency OIC foreign ministerial meeting be held at the earliest opportunity to discuss and decide on the matter.
