China Opposes Forced Displacement in Gaza, Affirms Palestinian Sovereignty
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – China reaffirmed its stance against the forced displacement of Palestinians, emphasizing that Gaza is an integral part of Palestinian territory, as tensions escalate over US President Donald Trump's proposed relocation plan.
"Gaza belongs to the Palestinians and is an integral part of the Palestinian territory," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said during a regular press briefing.
"We oppose the forced displacement of the people of Gaza," he added.
The Palestinian National and Islamic Forces in Gaza issued a defiant statement in response to the relocation plans proposed by Trump and Israel.
They warned that the displacement from Gaza could extend to Palestinians in the West Bank.
"We affirm that our people, who have made sacrifices over decades, will not leave their homeland and will remain rooted in their land," the statement said.
They described Trump's remarks as "a declaration of war aimed at uprooting our people from the Gaza Strip."
The group urged the upcoming Arab Summit to take practical measures to counter the proposed displacement.
They called on Arab and Islamic countries to support Palestinian resistance, emphasizing the existential threat posed by the relocation plans.
"What the enemy failed to achieve through killing and genocide, it will not succeed in achieving through politics and temptations," they stated.
They labeled the displacement plans as "ethnic cleansing" and vowed to resist them "with all our might."
Meanwhile, at least one Palestinian was killed and nine others injured in Gaza over the past 24 hours, according to the enclave's Health Ministry.
Gaza hospitals also received two bodies recovered from the rubble, the ministry added.
The three confirmed deaths raised the total toll since the Israeli attack in October 7, 2023, to 48,222, with 111,674 people injured, according to the Health Ministry's update on Telegram.
