In the match, held in Isfahan’s Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium, Mohammad Mehdi Mohebbi was on target for Sepahan in the 14th minute but Ali Alipour canceled out his goal in the 40th minute.
Substitute Farshad Ahmadzadeh found the back the net with a header in the 72nd minute but Persepolis captain Omid Alishah was shown a red card with 10 minutes remaining.
Soon after, Sepahan put 10-man Persepolis under pressure and leveled the score in the 88th minute. Mohammad Daneshgar scored with a header.
Milad Zakipour scored Sepahan’s third goal in the 93rd minute.
Sepahan midfielder Aboubakar Kamara was shown a second yellow card in the 102nd minute and Persepolis created several chances but its strikers failed to capitalize on their chances.
Earlier in the day, Shahrdari Nowshahr had defeated Palayesh Naft Bandar Abbas 1-0.
