In comments at a meeting of the Parliament on Sunday, Qalibaf appreciated Pezeshkian for dismissing negotiations with the “delusional” president of the US.
He said the president has correctly remained committed to the principle of domestic consensus, wisely adhered to the guidelines given by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and disappointed the enemy’s plans for polarization regarding the issue of negotiations.
The Parliament speaker stated that a united voice from the Iranian officials and their integrity in accordance with the policies outlined by the Leader would work well in the foreign policy arena and force the enemy to rectify its calculations in confrontation with the Iranian people.
Addressing a massive demonstration in celebration of the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran on February 10, Pezeshkian referred to US President Donald Trump’s stance towards Iran, highlighting how Trump professes a desire to negotiate while simultaneously endorsing plots against the Islamic nation.
The US has a long history of imposing sanctions that restrict Iranians’ access to essential medications, food and water, all while claiming to seek negotiations, he added.
Pezeshkian said the US president claims that Iran disrupts stability in the region, but it is the Zionist regime, backed by the US, that bombs Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine.
While the US president claims to pursue peace and tranquility, he supports those criminals, who have been condemned by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Pezeshkian stated.
