The conference is attended by the representative of the six Caspian states.

Senior participants in the meeting include Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, Prime Minister of Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Oljas Bektenov, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, and Prime Minister of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda.

The conference includes several expert panels attended by the officials of the six nations.

Addressing the event, the Iranian vice president highlighted the sustainable and irreplaceable capacity of neighborliness and called for collective efforts to deepen relations.

“Despite the problems and limitations caused by the cruel sanctions, Iran is resolutely keeping to the path of progress,” Aref said, noting that the neighbors have “strategic place” in Iran’s foreign policy.

The vice president also described Iran’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and the conclusion of a free trade agreement with the union as major strides in the enhancement of regional cooperation.
