"It is always a pleasure to host our brothers, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani," Araqchi wrote on X. "We had productive exchanges on bilateral relations and regional matters."
Araqchi stated that Tehran’s discussions with Qatar’s leadership were constructive and underscored the significance of regional ties. He also reiterated that Iran’s neighbors remain its foremost priority.
On Wednesday, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani traveled to Tehran, where he met with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized Iran’s commitment to strengthening relations with neighbors.
"Expanding ties with neighbors is a definitive policy of the Islamic Republic," he said. "One of President Pezeshkian’s stated policies is also to enhance regional cooperation, and by God's grace, significant steps have been taken in this regard with notable progress accomplished. Foreign Minister Mr. Araqchi has also been active and dynamic in this field."
The leader expressed hope that agreements reached in Tehran would benefit both countries and enable them to fulfill their regional responsibilities more effectively.
Araqchi said on Wednesday that Tehran and Doha are engaged in significant talks in the strategic, political, and economic fields, hailing Qatar as an influential country in the Persian Gulf region and emphasizing the two countries' long-standing and broad relations.
He added that the two countries are also in contact about regional developments, particularly the Palestinian issue and recent plots against Gaza, Hamas, Syria, and Yemen.
Iran and Qatar are also engaged in important and key consultations regarding economic affairs, he said.
