Iran Condemns Israeli Strikes on Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the new round of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

In a statement on Tuesday, Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei vehemently condemned the new round of Israeli attacks that have massacred hundreds of Palestinian civilians, including innocent women and children, in Gaza.

He said the brutal attacks, along with the blockade of food and medicine into Gaza, have been launched with the green light given by the US.

Denouncing the fresh strikes as a continuation of the Israeli genocidal crimes and ethnic cleansing in occupied Palestine, Baqaei highlighted the US government’s direct responsibility for the Zionist atrocities.

He also reminded all governments and the United Nations of their responsibility to stop the genocide and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

The Iranian spokesman warned that inaction in the face of the Israeli regime’s blatant violation of international law, committed in complicity with the US, the UK and a number of other Western governments, will erode the legal system of norms based upon the UN Charter.

He warned against the catastrophic consequences of such conditions for global peace and security.

He also highlighted the Islamic world’s special responsibility to prevent the massacre of Palestinians, calling on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to act seriously to support the people of Palestine, expedite the prosecution of the Israeli criminal leaders at the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice, and stop the delivery of arms and financial supports for the Zionist regime.

At least 326 Palestinians have been killed as the Israeli regime launched a massive assault on Gaza, shattering the fragile two-month-old ceasefire with Hamas.
