Biden Admin Deceived, Destroyed Ukraine: Russian Spokesperson
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The previous US administration betrayed, deceived and destroyed Ukraine, Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with former US intelligence officer and ex-UN inspector Scott Ritter.
"I would like to say that they -the people of Ukraine and the state of Ukraine- were betrayed by the people in Washington, and the way they were betrayed by Washington, by (former US President Joe) Biden, by (former US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria) Nuland, by (former US Secretary of State Antony) Blinken and others is unprecedented. They were deceived, they were betrayed, they were destroyed," Zakharova said.
In her words, Ukraine was an "emerging democracy" plagued with "corruption, graft and nationalism", TASS reported.
"And the way they (the previous US administration) played on those sentiments and deceived them (Ukrainians) is beyond cruel," the diplomat added.
