Iran moved within a point of sealing a fourth consecutive World Cup appearance with its win in Tehran as Sardar Azmoun and Mohammad Mohebbi scored for the home team.
Azmoun scored Iran’s first goal in the first half’s added time and Mohebbi doubled the advantage in the 70th minute.
Team Melli will next play Uzbekistan at the Azadi Stadium on Tuesday.
