Russia Asserts Iran’s Right to Peaceful Nuclear Energy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The press secretary of the Russian president acknowledged that Iran has the right to develop peaceful nuclear energy.
Speaking to reporters at a briefing on March 21, Dmitry Peskov stressed that Iran, like all countries, has the right to develop peaceful nuclear energy.
He said the Kremlin maintains the position that Iran, in the process of developing its nuclear dossier, does not intend to obtain nuclear weapons.
Russia is convinced that the problem of Iran’s nuclear program must be resolved exclusively by peaceful political and diplomatic means, Peskov stated, saying Moscow believes that everything necessary exists for this purpose. “All that is needed is political will,” he added, quoted by TASS.
