Four Children Among 25 Civilians Killed in Violent US Airstrikes on Yemen

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - At least 25 civilians, including four children, were killed in a week of US airstrikes in Yemen, marking the most intense bombardment since the final months of the Saudi-UAE air campaign in early 2022, the Yemen Data Project reported.

According to the independent monitoring group, 38 airstrikes were carried out over seven days, leaving at least 28 civilians injured.

The deadliest attack occurred on March 16 in Saada’s Qahzah As Safra district, where 10 civilians, including four children, were killed.

“A further 11 civilians were injured, including two children,” the Yemen Data Project stated.

The number of civilian deaths in the first week of the latest US military operation exceeded the casualties recorded during an entire year of US-UK airstrikes from January 2024 to January 2025, the group noted.

Yemeni media sources reported that recent US airstrikes targeted the Sahar district in Saada province, with American warplanes bombing the area twice.

The strikes come in response to Yemen’s military actions against Israeli crimes in Gaza.

Yemeni media outlets reported sustained US airstrikes across multiple locations in Saada and Amran provinces.

According to Al-Masirah, American warplanes conducted fresh attacks on eastern Saada, hitting the area twice.

Al-Salem district in Saada was struck three times, while Sahar endured four airstrikes within hours.

Local sources said Saada province was targeted 17 times in a single night, marking a sharp escalation in US military violating Yemeni airspace.

In Amran province, north of Sanaa, the Sufyan district was bombed twice.

Reports indicated that airstrikes on Sahar continued into early Sunday, with Al-Masirah confirming two additional attacks, bringing the total to four within a short period.
