Mother, Infant Among 39 Killed in Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli forces have killed at least 39 people in Gaza since early this morning, including a mother, her six-month-old baby, and four other children, according to health officials.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported that hospitals across the besieged territory received the bodies of at least 39 victims over the past 24 hours, including one recently recovered. Another 124 people were wounded in Israeli attacks, the ministry added.
Israeli gunfire killed at least one Palestinian near Rafah in southern Gaza. The attack occurred in the municipality of Ash-Shawka, east of Rafah, according to local sources. Further strikes targeted Rafah’s Shakoush neighborhood and other western areas, the Palestinian Information Center reported, though no casualties were confirmed.
Since the Israeli war began, at least 50,183 people have been killed and 113,828 wounded, the Gaza Health Ministry stated. The toll includes at least 830 deaths and 1,787 injuries since Israel ended a two-month ceasefire last week. Thousands more remain missing beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings and are presumed dead, local authorities said.
Meanwhile, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that nine first responders have been missing for four consecutive days after failing to return from a rescue mission in Rafah.
The PRCS said on social media platform X that its staff had gone to the Al-Hashaashin neighborhood on Sunday following reports of casualties. The organization stated that the team was “besieged” by Israeli forces and that efforts to reach them through international channels were met with Israeli non-cooperation.
