Iran Replies to Trump’s Letter via Oman: FM
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran has sent a reply to the letter from the US president via Oman.
Speaking to IRNA on Thursday, Araqchi said Iran’s formal response to the letter from US President Donald Trump has been duly sent via Oman.
The foreign minister noted that the formal reply includes a letter in which Iran’s viewpoints on the status quo and on Trump’s letter have been fully explicated.
Araqchi reiterated that Iran’s policy still entails the rejection of direct negotiations under maximum pressures and military threats, but stated that indirect talks can continue as they have been held in the past.
He explained that indirect talks with the US had been held during the tenure of late Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi and also his predecessor Hassan Rouhani.
