US Launches Fresh Airstrikes on Yemen

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The United States conducted more acts of aggression against Yemen by launching a new wave of airstrikes across multiple regions in the Arab country, targeting military sites and infrastructure, Yemeni media reported on Friday.

Airstrikes hit a military facility south of Sana’a with four attacks, while areas near Sana’a International Airport and two districts in the south and center of Sana’a governorate were also bombed, according to local sources.

In Hudaydah governorate, the US warplanes carried out three raids, while Sa’ada governorate saw the heaviest bombardment, with at least seven airstrikes reported by Yemen’s SABA news agency. Five air raids struck the Al-Safra district, while Al-Salem was targeted with two attacks.

The Jabal Aswad district in Amran province was also hit by eight airstrikes, five of which knocked out telecommunication infrastructure, rendering it inoperative. No immediate reports of casualties have emerged.

The US and its allies have intensified airstrikes on Yemen following Sana’a's resumption of military operations against Israel. Washington and London, key backers of Tel Aviv, have conducted repeated strikes on Yemen, which have killed dozens of civilians, including women and children.

Late on Wednesday, the US warplanes carried out at least 15 air raids on southern and northeastern Sana’a, including strikes near Sana’a International Airport. The US-led coalition also renewed its bombardment of Sahar District in Sa’ada governorate earlier that morning, following overnight airstrikes in the area.

The Yemeni forces have launched attacks on Israeli occupied territories since the collapse of a Gaza ceasefire, positioning their operations as support for the besieged Palestinian enclave.

In a recent speech, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement, said, “The Israeli enemy’s aggressive course, in partnership with the US, is moving toward a clear goal, an attempt to eradicate the Palestinian cause.”

Israeli forces resumed their genocidal military operations in Gaza on March 18, following a two-month pause under a ceasefire agreement that had been in effect since January 19.
