Persepolis and Esteghlal Khuzestan Share Spoils in IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis and Esteghlal Khuzestan played out a goalless draw in the 2024-25 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Saturday, with the result marking a significant setback for the Reds in their title pursuit at home.
In other matches, Sepahan was held to a 1-1 draw by Aluminum in Arak. Sepahan captain Mohammad Karimi scored from the penalty spot in stoppage time, but Amin Kazemian equalized for Aluminum with another penalty in the dying moments of the match.
In a surprising twist, bottom-placed Havadar defeated Malavan 2-0 in Tehran, while Mes and Nassaji ended their match in Rafsanjan with a goalless draw.
Tractor currently leads the table with 54 points, followed closely by Sepahan with 50 points and Persepolis with 48 points.
