“We arrive in the beautiful capital city Algiers for an official visit to Algeria,” Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei, who is part of the delegation, said in a post on his X account on Tuesday.
“Iran and Algeria, two important developing Muslim nations, share many commonalities and enjoy excellent relations. We are determined to strengthen our relationship in all aspects for the good of our peoples,” he added.
In March 2024, Iran and Algeria signed six cooperation agreements during former Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi’s official visit to Algiers.
The agreements entail promotion of cooperation in the oil and gas industries, scientific and technological activities, knowledge-based economy, tourism industry, sports, and the media sector.
