A series of Iranian weapons were exhibited in the LAAD (Latin America Aerospace and Defense) 2025 in Brazil.
The 15th edition of the trade show was held in Rio de Janeiro from April 1 to 4.
It was the first time the Iranian Defense Ministry was attending the event.
In its pavilion, Iran showcased a replica of the homegrown Shahed-149 (aka Gaza) wide-body military drone.
Images of the product indicate that the drone has been furnished with new antennas and navigation receivers designed to prevent or mitigate the effects of radio frequency jamming in electronic warfare.
Such anti-jamming and anti-spoofing equipment had already proved successful in Shahed-129 drones.
Known as Iran’s biggest combat drone, Shahed-149 was unveiled in May 2021. Powered by a turboprop engine, the military UAV is capable of carrying 13 bombs.
With a wingspan of 21 meters, Gaza weighs 3.1 tons and can carry a payload of 500 kilograms.
The drone has a flight endurance of 35 hours, a service ceiling of 35,000 feet, and an operational range of 2,000 kilometers.
It can be employed in various combat, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, as well as search and rescue operations and relief efforts after natural disasters and accidents.
