100 Tons of Gold Imported to Iran in One Year

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran imported a total of 100 metric tons of gold during the past Persian year, valued at $8 billion.

The statistics released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) show that 100 tons of gold ingots, worth $8 billion, were imported by Iran in the Persian year 1403, which ended on March 20.

IRICA chief Foroud Asgari reported that the value of Iran’s non-oil foreign trade exchanges has stood at $130,219 million in the previous Persian year, indicating an 11.39 percent increase compared to a year earlier.

The total value of Iran’s non-oil exports in 1403 surpassed $57.8 billion, while the value of imports stood at $72,375 million, showing a 15.62 percent and 8.22 percent rise in comparison with a year before, respectively.
