Israel Kills Dozens in Gaza Attacks As 500,000 Forcibly Displaced
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Medical sources said at least 35 people have been killed in the Israeli regime’s attacks on Gaza since early on Wednesday, while more devastating strikes have been reported in the recent hours.
The United Nations has said that an estimated 500,000 people have been “newly displaced or uprooted once more” in Gaza since the Israeli regime broke the ceasefire with Hamas on March 18.
The latest round of Israeli attacks has laid bare the vulnerability of the Palestinian communities in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, as the Israeli air force has hit a group of tents in Khan Younis, killing at least 10 Palestinians and wounding seven, Al Jazeera reported.
Those wounded in the attack are now receiving treatment in Nasser Hospital and are suffering severe wounds and burns that require urgent medical care, which is barely available.
The Israeli attacks on makeshift tent camps have triggered condemnation from human rights groups, which have repeatedly warned that such attacks might gravely violate international law.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 51,025 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 116,432 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since it began 18 months ago.
The Gaza Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
