Pakistan Gets Briefed on Iran-US Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi briefed his Pakistani counterpart on the indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

In a telephone conversation on Sunday night, Araqchi and Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar talked about the relations between Tehran and Islamabad, the situation in Afghanistan, and regional and international developments.

The top diplomats also stressed the need for constant high-profile consultations to broaden relations between the two Muslim nations.

Araqchi further briefed his Pakistani counterpart on the course of the recent indirect negotiations between Iran and the US.

Delegations from Iran and the US have held two rounds of talks in Muscat and Rome in the past two weeks with the purpose of reaching a deal on Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions on Iran.

The two sides have agreed to proceed with technical talks at the level of experts in Oman on April 23, to be followed by a meeting of top negotiators on April 26.
