Havadar A Step Closer to Relegation in IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Havadar football team drew 2-2 with Esteghlal in the 2024-25 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday, bringing the team a step closer to relegation with just three weeks remaining in the season.
The match at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium saw Ramin Rezaeian give the host an early lead in the fourth minute, but Dariush Shojaeian quickly equalized just two minutes later.
Havadar regained the lead in the 28th minute with a goal from Mohammad Hossein Sadeghi, but it was unable to maintain its advantage. Just six minutes into the second half, Kasra Rahmati scored an own goal, resulting in the final 2-2 scoreline.
With this draw, Havadar is precariously close to relegation, currently sitting at the bottom of the table, while Esteghlal holds the 11th position in the 16-team league.
