Women, Children among 25 Killed in Pre-Dawn Israeli Airstrikes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli forces launched a series of pre-dawn airstrikes on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing at least 25 Palestinians, including women and children, as strikes targeted residential areas in Khan Younis, Gaza City and the Jabalia refugee camp.

In southern Khan Younis, a residential house was struck, igniting a fire that killed nine people initially. Three more later died from severe burns sustained in the attack, raising the toll to 12. Local medics said the victims were burned beyond recognition.

In Gaza City, an airstrike hit a residential building shortly after midnight, killing seven people. Civil defense crews worked into the early morning hours to retrieve the bodies from the rubble, including those of two children, according to rescue workers on the scene.

In the northern Jabalia refugee camp, two missiles struck a tent housing a displaced family, killing five people — a man, his wife and their three children. At least 10 others nearby were injured and taken to hospital, according to health officials.

However, hospitals across Gaza remain overwhelmed and under-equipped. Many of the injured have died due to a lack of medicine, medical supplies and adequate care. "Patients are dying silently in hospitals," one doctor said.

Israel also struck the Jabalia municipality’s garage, destroying bulldozers and trucks used to clear debris. The continued bombardment has crippled efforts to rescue survivors and recover bodies from beneath the rubble.

In Rafah, families remain trapped in the northern part of the city, with Israeli forces blocking Red Cross vehicles from entering the area to assist with evacuations, according to humanitarian workers.

Throughout the night, loud explosions were reported across the eastern part of Gaza City, where entire neighborhoods were systematically demolished, witnesses said.

The ongoing bombardment has intensified fears of a deepening humanitarian crisis as Gaza's already strained infrastructure buckles under sustained attacks.

At least 51,240 Palestinians have been confirmed killed and 116,931 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since it began 18 months ago.

The Gaza Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.

The Israeli army resumed its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip on March 18 and has since killed 1,864 people and injured nearly 4,900 others despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin  Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
