Israeli Surveillance Drone Seized by Islamic Jihad in Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement seized an Israeli surveillance drone hovering over the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

The Al-Quds Brigades, in a post on Telegram, stated that it had "taken control of a Zionist reconnaissance drone of the type Matrice 350 RTK while it was carrying out multiple intelligence missions in the skies over Khan Younis."

No further details were provided by the group, while the Israeli military has not commented on the incident, Anadolu reported.

The Israeli army resumed its assault on Gaza on March 18, shattering a Jan. 19 ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement.

Israel has killed more than 51,200 Palestinians in the enclave since October 2023, most of them women and children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
