Iran Condemns Israeli Assaults on Gaza, Lebanon
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s relentless military attacks and acts of aggression against Gaza and Lebanon.
In a statement on Friday, Esmaeil Baqaei denounced the continuation of blockade on the Gaza Strip, the ban on the delivery of humanitarian aids into the enclave, and the escalation of Israeli attacks on the camps and tents of displaced people in Gaza as flagrant war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The Iranian spokesman called for decisive global action to prosecute and punish the Zionist regime’s leaders for committing genocide and war crimes.
Deploring the UN Security Council’s inaction on the Israeli crimes, he lashed out at the US and certain European governments for complicity in the Israeli atrocities by arming the Zionist regime.
Baqaei further condemned the Zionist regime’s continued acts of aggression against Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, saying Israel has recurrently violated the ceasefire agreement by conducting aerial and drone attacks on various parts of Lebanon and assassinating the Lebanese political and social figures.
The Iranian spokesman reminded the United Nations and the guarantors of the ceasefire of their responsibility to put an end to the Israeli crimes and acts of aggression.
The Zionist regime’s impunity and the unrelenting massacre of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank as well as the occupation of parts of Lebanon and Syria severely threaten peace and security in the West Asia, he stated.
The spokesman finally stressed the need for the regional countries to take serious measures to prevent the spread of insecurity and counter the apartheid Zionist regime’s expansionism.
