Talks on Missiles Out of Question: Iran Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry ruled out the possibility of any discussion about Iran’s defense capabilities or missile program at the ongoing negotiations with the US in Oman.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Esmaeil Baqaei rejected stories run by a number of Western media outlets about the growing number of topics discussed in the talks between Iran and the US.

The spokesman underlined that Iran’s defense power or its missile capabilities have not been and will not be mooted at the indirect negotiations with the US at all.

The third round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the US got underway in Muscat on Saturday.

They have held two rounds of talks in Oman and Italy on April 12 and 19 with the purpose of reaching a deal on Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions on Tehran.
