Iran to Strike Back at Origin of Assault, IRGC Chief Warns

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami warned the enemies that Iran will launch retaliatory strikes on any location at any country from which an act of aggression occurs against the Islamic Republic.

In remarks after unveiling a new subterranean drone base of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy in Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan on Thursday, Major General Salami said the IRGC Navy has shaped its power on the basis of battle against the extra-regional forces.

The format and structure of the IRGC Navy have allowed it to successfully handle a combat singlehandedly for a long period, he added, saying the IRGC Navy has all necessary components for a full-blown war, from anti-ship ballistic missiles with pinpoint accuracy to cruise missiles with diverse ranges.

The general stated that what has been unveiled is only a small portion of the IRGC Navy’s massive drone capabilities, noting that the modern and advanced drones at the IRGC Navy’s disposal have allowed the commanders to design various types of strikes with flexibility.

The display of Iran’s military power would force the enemies to avoid miscalculations and mistakes, Major General Salami added.

He explained that a principle of IRGC’s defense doctrine entails retaliatory strike on the origin of hostile threats against Iran’s interests.

The top commander warned the enemies that any location at any country used as a source of assault against Iran will be deemed as a target, meaning that the origin of aggression against Iran will become a destination for counterattack.
