Iran Qualifies for 2025 World Polo Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Pakistan in a two-match final at the 2025 World Polo Championship Asia qualifiers.
Iran lost to Pakistan 17-14 in its first match and then defeated the team 19-13 in its second match and advanced to the world championship, which will be held in the US.
The Asia qualifiers were held at the Nofa Equestrian Resort, west of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Polo is a ball game that is played on horseback as a traditional field sport.
It is one of the world's oldest known team sports, having been adopted in the Western world from the game of Chovgan, with its origins tracing back to ancient Persia between the 6th century BC and the 1st century AD.
