Presence of Iranian Experts in New Round of US Talks Confirmed

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Iran said on Saturday that Iranian experts will be taking part in the forthcoming round of indirect nuclear negotiations with the US.

Asked if technical teams from Iran and the US will attend the new round of nuclear talks, Esmaeil Baqaei told Mehr news agency on Saturday that he can make comments only about the line-up of the Iranian delegation.

He said the Iranian delegation will include “experts and specialists” needed for the new stage of negotiations that will serve the interests of Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said the new round of indirect talks with the US will be held on Sunday, May 11.

He said the Sultanate of Oman, which plays host to the indirect talks between Iran and the US, determines the time and location of the negotiations.

Iran and the US held three rounds of talks in Muscat and Rome on April 12, 19 and 26, mediated by Oman, with the purpose of reaching a deal on Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions on Tehran.
