Iran, EU3 Hold Talks in Turkey

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ranking diplomats from Iran and the European troika held talks in Istanbul on Friday.

In a post on his X account on Friday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said negotiations with the representative of the UK, France and Germany have been held in Istanbul.

“(Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid) Takht Ravanchi and I hosted E3 Political Directors in Istanbul,” he said.

“We exchanged views and discussed the latest state of play on nuclear and sanctions lifting indirect negotiations,” Gharibabadi added.

“Iran and the E3 are determined to sustain and make best use of diplomacy. We will meet again, as appropriate, to continue our dialogue,” the Iranian deputy minister stated.

Iran and the US have held four rounds of talks since April 12, mediated by Oman, with the purpose of reaching a deal on Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions on Tehran.
