Palestinians Experiencing ‘Nonstop State of Displacement’

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli military operations continued across Gaza on Friday, triggering widespread displacement and drawing condemnation from regional leaders, including Iraq’s prime minister, who condemned the Israeli violence during an Arab League summit.

Explosions were reported throughout Gaza City, with strikes hitting the densely populated neighborhoods of Zeitoun and Shujayea.

According to local journalist Hani Mahmoud, more than half the population in those areas has been displaced due to recent evacuation orders.

“The people are experiencing a nonstop state of displacement across the Strip,” he said.

Heavy bombardment has also been reported in northern Gaza, as Israeli military operations intensify.

Mahmoud said the military has planted explosive devices in residential areas under cover of night, using quadcopters for concealment.

He said many of those devices detonated early Friday, damaging large sections of residential buildings.

In central Gaza, Israeli forces have expanded operations in eastern Deir el-Balah, pushing civilians toward the western part of the city.

Residents continue to flee from one area to another in search of safety, Mahmoud added, “which does not exist right now.”

At an Arab League summit hosted by Baghdad, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced a $40 million aid package for reconstruction efforts in Gaza and Lebanon.

“Iraq will contribute $20 million to the reconstruction of Gaza and $20 million for the reconstruction of Lebanon,” he said.

Al-Sudani called the violence in Gaza a genocide, stating: “This genocide has reached a level of ugliness unparalleled in all conflicts in history.”

He reaffirmed Iraq’s support for Palestinian rights, adding that the country’s vision for resolving conflicts in the region depends on “the Palestinian people achieving their full right to a free and dignified life on their land.”

Rejecting the “forced displacement of Palestinians,” al-Sudani urged an end to “massacres in Gaza, the attacks on the West Bank and the occupied territories.”

“We have called, and continue to call, for serious and responsible Arab action to save Gaza and reactivate the UNRWA,” he said.
