Date for New Round of Iran-US Talks in Sight, Araqchi Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The timing of the next round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the US might be fixed in the coming days, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said.

Speaking to reporters in Muscat on Wednesday, Araqchi said his trip to Oman in the company of President Masoud Pezeshkian has involved consultations and exchanges of views about the talks between Iran and the US, although the presidential visit has not been made for the sake of Iran-US talks in principle.

He noted that a date for the new round of negotiations between Iran and the US may be determined within the next few days. “The date has not been set yet,” the foreign minister said.

Iran and the US have held five rounds of talks since April 12, mediated by Oman, with the purpose of reaching a deal on Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions on Tehran.
