In a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his German counterpart Johann Wadephul discussed bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.

Araqchi expressed hope for the improvement of relations between Tehran and Berlin. He referred to the recent mutual understandings and reiterated Iran’s readiness to take effective steps in this regard, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

He also spoke about the ongoing Iran-US talks regarding the removal of sanctions and nuclear issues and stressed the importance of Europe’s constructive role in this respect.

Araqchi said Iran is willing to continue its dialogue with the EU3 and the European Union.

The German foreign minister, for his part, reaffirmed Germany’s readiness to continue the bilateral and multilateral talks with Iran and to take further confidence-building measures with Tehran.

Araqchi and Wadephul also agreed that the foreign ministries of the two countries plan and conduct political consultations to address the outstanding issues.
