Set of Iran’s Measures Arranged in Response to IAEA: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has prepared a package of measures in response to a possible resolution that the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency may pass against Tehran, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.

In remarks at a presser on Monday, Esmaeil Baqaei said the IAEA Board of Governors’ likely move to pass a resolution against Iran during its upcoming meeting would reveal the will of the countries that have initiated the resolution to confront Iran.

While Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA has always been based upon the Safeguards Agreement, Tehran has taken serious measures during the past year to interact with the UN nuclear agency, he said.

However, the IAEA has unfortunately decided to draft a so-called “comprehensive report” about Iran under the influence and political pressures of the US and the European troika, Baqaei deplored.

“Undoubtedly, the response to confrontation won’t be further cooperation. Iran has prepared a package of measures, of which the other parties are aware,” the spokesman added.

He warned that Iran will definitely carry out a spectrum of measures considering the future developments.

His warning came after reports came out that the US, along with allies the UK, France, and Germany --known as the EU3-- plans to submit a resolution to the IAEA board that would declare Iran non-compliant with its non-proliferation obligations.
