Iran Tests Missile with 2-Ton Warhead

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has successfully tested a missile with a warhead weighing two tons, Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh said.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the defense minister assured the Iranian nation that any strike from outsiders will trigger a heavy military response from Iran.

Commenting on the notion that the failure of the nuclear talks between Iran and the US may result in an ultimate skirmish, General Nasirzadeh warned that any clash imposed on Iran will force the Islamic Republic to hit the targets it has specified.

The minister cautioned that Iran’s retaliatory strike will inflict heavy losses on the enemy, in such a way that the US will have to leave the region.

The general emphasized that the defense issues could by no means be mooted in the nuclear negotiations.

He stated that Iran’s operational military forces are well-equipped, noting that Iran carried out a successful missile test with a 2-ton warhead last week.

In a statement released on Monday, the Supreme National Security Council of Iran warned Israel that any attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities will trigger a proportional retaliation that will hit the Zionist regime’s secret nuclear facilities.
