Iran’s Women’s Football Team Downs Iraq in Friendly
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s women’s football team defeated Iraq 7-0 in its second friendly match on Thursday.
Sara Didar and Negin Zandi scored two goals each as well as goals from Shabnam Behesht, Fatemeh Makhdoumi and Zahra Alizadeh.
Team Melli Banovan had also defeated Iraq 8-0 on Tuesday.
Iran, headed by Marziyeh Jafari, is preparing for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers in June.
Iran is drawn against Jordan, Bhutan, Singapore, and Lebanon in Group A.
Iran is scheduled to face Singapore in its opening match.
