Azerbaijan Distances Itself from Military Action against Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan gave an assurance that his country will never allow its soil or airspace to be employed for any act of aggression against the others, including Iran.

In a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart on Saturday, Azeri Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov offered his condolences over the martyrdom of a number of Iranian military commanders in a recent Israeli strike.

He stressed that the Republic of Azerbaijan will never allow its airspace or soil to be used for an act of aggression against Iran or any other country.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi condemned the Israeli military attack as a flagrant violation of Iran’s national sovereignty and all international regulations.

He said the Zionist regime’s measures have jeopardized world peace and security.

Araqchi stressed that Iran will exercise its right to legitimate defense by giving a harsh response to the Israeli act of aggression.

The Zionist regime has crossed all redlines by attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities, the foreign minister stated, calling for the global condemnation of the Israeli actions.

The Israeli regime attacked a number of residential neighborhoods of Tehran as well as military and nuclear sites in other parts of Iran in the early hours of June 13.

Several top military commanders, at least six Iranian nuclear scientists, and dozens of civilians have been martyred in the strikes.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has warned the Zionist regime that it will receive a severe punishment for the strike, saying, “With this crime, the Zionist regime has prepared for itself a bitter, painful fate, which it will definitely see.”
