Yemeni Chief of Staff Survives Israeli Assassination Attempt

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Major General Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari, Chief of the General Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces, has reportedly survived an Israeli airstrike targeting a high-level military meeting in Sana’a, according to regional media sources.

The London-based Arabic-language outlet al-Araby al-Jadeed reported that a powerful explosion rocked the Hadda neighborhood in southwest Sana’a late Saturday night.

The blast was caused by an Israeli air raid aimed at eliminating senior Yemeni military leaders.

At the time of the strike, Major General al-Ghamari and other top commanders were reportedly discussing a strategic response to the Zionist regime’s ongoing massacres in Gaza.

Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area following the explosion, while ambulances were seen rushing to the scene.

There is no official statement yet from the Yemeni Armed Forces or the Ansarullah resistance movement concerning Ghamari’s condition.

Hebrew-language media have acknowledged the operation, noting that the Israeli military is currently evaluating the outcome of the strike.

Major General al-Ghamari, who has served as Chief of Staff since December 2016, is widely recognized for his leadership role in organizing retaliatory missile and drone strikes against Israeli targets.

He is considered one of the key figures in Yemen’s military resistance against the Zionist entity.

Following the outbreak of the genocidal war on Gaza, the Yemeni Armed Forces imposed a strategic blockade on Israeli-bound maritime routes in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

They have vowed to continue their operations until the Zionist regime halts its brutal ground and aerial campaign in Gaza.

The Israeli regime's relentless war machine has so far claimed the lives of over 55,297 Palestinians, most of them women and children, as the world continues to witness the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe with shameful silence.
