Nuclear Program Alive in Iran: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran is pressing ahead with its peaceful nuclear program that draws its legitimacy from the UNSC Resolution 2231 despite the recent dangerous military strikes by the Zionist regime, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.

In comments at a press conference on Monday, Esmaeil Baqaei lashed out at the Israeli regime for setting a dangerous precedent in history by attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities.

He said the Israeli aggression against Iran’s nuclear sites has harmed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Iran expects the European countries to focus their efforts on halting the Israeli act of aggression and condemn the attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the spokesman added.

He stated that Iran’s nuclear activities are being monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency and are subject to the harshest inspections, noting that there is no room for any excuse or justification for suspicion about the peaceful program.

“Iran’s nuclear program is alive,” the spokesman stated, stressing that Iran’s nuclear rights that have been legitimized by the UNSC Resolution 2231 could not be taken away by any organization.
