Serbia Halts Arms Exports to Israel amid Global Outcry over Gaza Genocide

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Serbia has suspended all weapons exports to the Israeli regime, marking a rare European stand against Tel Aviv’s continued campaign of massacre in Gaza, where tens of thousands of Palestinians, primarily women and children, have been slaughtered in months of US-backed aggression.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced the decision on Monday evening following a meeting with top military officials, stating that the Balkan state would no longer supply arms to the occupying Israeli regime.

The move came just one day after mass protests erupted in Belgrade, where demonstrators, led by the group “Support for the People of Palestine - Serbia,” demanded an immediate end to military cooperation with Israel.

The suspension of arms exports is a blow to the Zionist regime, which has relied heavily on Western and allied military support to carry out its campaign of annihilation against Gaza’s civilian population.

In the early hours of Tuesday, Israeli warplanes once again bombed desperate Palestinians waiting for food aid, killing at least 24 and injuring dozens more. Among the targets was a home in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, where five bodies were pulled from the rubble by civil defense crews.

The wounded and dead were taken to al-Shifa Medical Complex.

At al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat, medical staff reported receiving 19 corpses and 146 wounded civilians after Israeli forces struck a food distribution area along Salah al-Din Street. Sixty-two of the injured were in critical condition and transferred for emergency care.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli regime has murdered over 56,000 Palestinians under the pretext of self-defense, with the full financial and diplomatic backing of the United States. Women and children constitute the majority of the casualties in what many legal experts and rights organizations have declared a clear case of genocide.

In response to the atrocities, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former war minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Meanwhile, Israel stands trial at the International Court of Justice over its genocidal war on Gaza, yet continues to enjoy political impunity from Washington and its NATO partners.
