Iran Calls for Action amid Worsening Humanitarian Suffering in Gaza

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the genocidal war crimes of the Israeli regime in Gaza and urged immediate global and regional intervention to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Politics

The Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a statement expressing deep alarm over the worsening humanitarian disaster in Gaza, denouncing the continued slaughter of Palestinians and the deliberate deprivation of food, water, medicine, and essential supplies.

The Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the relentless crimes committed by the Zionist regime, calling on the international community and regional countries to act decisively and effectively to stop the genocide and ease the suffering of the oppressed people of Palestine.

The ministry described the inhumane siege of Gaza, the savage bombardment of refugee shelters, and the targeting of humanitarian aid points as deliberate acts of mass murder that expose the full extent of Israeli brutality and apartheid.

It noted that more than 1,000 innocent civilians have been killed while waiting in food lines and over 600 have died from starvation, highlighting the regime’s barbarity and clear violations of international humanitarian law.

With 90% of Gaza declared uninhabitable and over 1.2 million people facing extreme hunger, Iran warned that Gaza is now on the brink of total collapse.

The Foreign Ministry blamed the failure of the UN Security Council on US obstructionism, stating this has emboldened the Israeli regime and normalized criminality.

It emphasized that full military, economic, and political support by the US and certain European countries—especially Germany—has granted Israel total impunity and enabled the execution of an ethnic cleansing project and forced displacement of Palestinians.

Iran held Israel’s backers, particularly the US, responsible for war crimes, denouncing them for shielding the regime from accountability through arms supplies and political cover.

The ministry warned that the total breakdown of Gaza’s health system and the five-month blockade of food and medicine had created an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, with genocide unfolding in real-time under the direction of one of history’s most ruthless regimes.

It called on all states, international institutions, and humanitarian organizations—including the UN Human Rights Council, ICRC, WHO, and UNICEF—to fulfill their legal and moral obligations to stop Israel’s crimes.

It referenced the UN Charter, the Geneva Conventions, and the Genocide Convention, all of which require states to enforce humanitarian rules and prevent genocide.

Iran urged Islamic and regional countries to act through the OIC and the UN to force Israel’s backers, especially the US, to stop the atrocities and enable the delivery of vital aid—especially water, food, and medicine—to Gaza.

It further called for the prosecution and punishment of Zionist war criminals.

Reaffirming its support for the Palestinian right to self-determination, Iran stressed the legitimacy of the Palestinian struggle against occupation and colonial apartheid.

It called for unity among free nations and Muslim states to stop the colonial genocide underway in occupied Palestine.
